Itinerary
Day 1: Lima.
Upon arrival at Lima international airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Lima.
Day 2: Flight Lima Iquitos.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your early morning flight to Iquitos.
On arrival at Iquitos airport you will be met by our representative and have a brief city orientation then you will be transferred to the Explorama dock to start you Amazon adventure through the Amazon River, you will have a twenty-five mile journey down the Amazon to Ceiba Tops a very comfortable lodge where you will have a private room with air conditioning and hot water.
In the afternoon we will have a hike in the beautiful primary rainforest reserve surrounding Ceiba Tops which includes many huge trees festooned with epiphytes.
After dinner there may be local flute or guitar music at the El Toucan Bar or you can hear the guides who are always ready to relate some of the many legends of the Amazon forest.
Evening: Overnight in Ceiba Tops.

Day 3: Ceiba Tops.
In the morning we will have a boat ride, spotting for dolphins, to visit a small village of Yagua Indians where your guide will explain the Yagua Indian culture and how it was affected by the arrival of Europeans and the passing of time. There will also be an opportunity to see some of the local crafts and for a demonstration of the blowgun which some of the Yagua elders still use for hunting.
In the afternoon, you will have a walking excursion to the neighboring town of Indiana which originally was a Franciscan mission; now Indiana has grown into a large river community with its own market, high school and small hospital.
Evening: Overnight in Ceiba Tops.

Day 4: Ceiba Tops Canopy Walkway Ceiba Tops.
Early morning departure from Ceiba Tops by boat to the narrow motorcar crossing connecting the Amazon and Napo Rivers to continue by boat to Explor Napo Lodge for breakfast. Hike to the spectacular Canopy Walkway spanning over 500 meters (one-third of a mile), connected by tree platforms, and reaching a height of over 35 meters (115 feet) but accessible without any type of climbing skill or equipment. After lunch, visit the "ReNuPeRu" Ethnobotanical Garden where over 240 medicinal plants are cultivated by a local shaman who will explain the nature of Amazonian natural healing and the uses of some of the plants. Return to Ceiba Tops in time to enjoy the pool or hammocks before dinner.
Evening: Overnight in Ceiba Tops.

Day 5: Ceiba Tops Iquitos/Flight Iquitos Lima.
Your choice of a morning walking or boating excursion to further enjoy the rainforest and Amazon River or time to relax by the pool until departure time.
In the afternoon you will be transferred to Iquitos and to the airport.
On arrival at Lima airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to Miraflores, the bustling, cosmopolitan area of the city.
Evening: Overnight in Lima.

Day 6: Lima Tour.
We will drive you downtown into the city of the Kings; our English speaking guide will do his best for you to know Lima: the Plaza de Armas, with the baroque cathedral, the Palacio de Gobierno (Governors Palace), the Archbishop's Palace with its big carved wooden balconies, and the convent of San Francisco, whose bright yellow facade covers a grisly secret. Underneath the convent lie extensive catacombs that served as the cemetery for the whole of Lima during the colonial period!
Evening flight back home:
Transfer at any time to the airport to board your flight back home.
